Our winery is, above all, a labor of love. For 18 generations, we have been gardeners at heart and know that the quality of wine begins foremost in the vineyard.

To us, the winery is a creative playground—a place to experiment, embrace unplanned processes, and ideally discover something new or rediscover time-honored traditions. For the restless spirit of Markus C. Drautz, it’s just the right fit.

Our philosophy is to best capture the balance between tradition and modernity in wine. This often requires a balancing act, made possible by the experimental freedom offered by the winery.

We continuously question, review, and re-evaluate principles in viticulture, embracing a “back to the roots” approach while looking ahead.

Recently, we’ve combined traditional methods with new approaches in our winemaking, crafting wines in ways reminiscent of our ancestors but enhanced by modern technologies and processes.

The result is our natural and orange wines, which continue to inspire and delight us anew.
