About the winery

Founded in 1907, J. Hofstätter is one of Alto Adige’s historic family wineries, located in Tramin-Termeno in northern Italy, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Dolomites. Renowned for Pinot Noir and Gewürztraminer, the estate is deeply shaped by its Alpine origins. Its vineyards extend across both sides of the Adige Valley, from warm valley slopes to higher-altitude sites, creating a remarkable diversity of soils, exposures and microclimates. The landscape reflects more than 250 million years of geological history. Dolomitic formations, ancient sedimentary soils and the influence of the mountains give the wines their distinctive character, combining freshness, precision and depth. For generations, J. Hofstätter has been dedicated to expressing the identity of its vineyards, producing wines that capture the distinctive character of Alto Adige and the influence of the Dolomites.
