Weingut Hahnmühle
About the winery
At Weingut Hahnmühle, we combine long-standing organic farming with a precise, hands-on approach in both vineyard and cellar. Our work is guided by a deep respect for nature and a clear focus on expressing origin as authentically as possible. Our vineyards are located in the secluded Alsenz Valley, a distinctive part of the Nahe region shaped by steep slopes and a highly diverse landscape. Vines grow alongside orchards, forests, and hedgerows, fostering biodiversity and creating a natural balance. The geological diversity is equally remarkable, with soils ranging from weathered sandstone (Rotliegend) to clay slate and volcanic porphyry. Together with the cool climate and site-specific microconditions, this forms the foundation for wines with tension, freshness, and strong identity. Riesling is at the core of our production, representing around half of our portfolio. It is complemented by Burgundy varieties as well as a traditional field blend of Riesling and Roter Traminer, typical for the Alsenz Valley. All grapes are harvested by hand, allowing for careful selection and gentle handling. In the cellar, we focus on clarity and precision, aiming to preserve the character of each vineyard and vintage. Our range is completed by a small, dedicated sparkling wine production, including both classic-method wines and more experimental styles such as Pét-Nat.
