In 1966, Karl-Heinz and Thekla Baldauf laid the foundation for the present-day winery in the Franconian Saale Valley by establishing the vineyard. In 1990, Gerald Baldauf took over the winery, and since 1996, the winery has been jointly managed by the brothers Gerald and Ralf Baldauf.

The quality of a wine is greatly influenced by the soil on which it is grown. Our wines are cultivated on shell limestone soil. This type of soil produces wines with exceptional character and imparts that “certain something” to the wine through its unique properties.
