…from toolmaker to winemaker
In 2000 the Brenneisen vineyard was founded in Egringen by the career jumper and viniculturalist Dirk Brenneisen. It comprises 6ha of vines, where mostly Gutedel (Chasselas, 45%) and Pinot Noir (25%), also Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris (each 10%) are grown.
We exploit the full potential of each single vine together with it´s place of location (Terroir).
Generally the red wines are made in wooden barrels, but also the most white wines, and the basic wine for sparkling wine are fermented in wooden barrels.
The yeast remains in the barrel for several months.
The influence of the yeast and the microoxidisation in the wooden barrel gives our wines a distinctive structure and unique character. We don´t use any fining agents.
Since 2006 we have dispensed with the „Qualitätsweinprüfung“ (German certification of quality wine), so that our wines retain their authenticity.
Since then we have labelled our wines as „Badischer Landwein“.
We sell our wines to private customers and regional restaurants in Markgräflerland.
Furthermore our wines are sold by specialist retailers.
So far we have only exported our wines to Switzerland, however we would also like to export to other countries.
