Landweingut Brenneisen was founded in 2000 by the newcomer Dirk Brenneisen in Egringen and now covers 9 hectares of vineyard.
The majority of the vineyard is planted with Gutedel, with additional cultivation of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Weissburgunder, and Grauburgunder.
The foundation for our wines is already set in the vineyard. With a focus on quality, the vines are managed throughout the year in a way that fully utilizes the potential of each grape variety and its location (terroir).
All wines are aged in wooden barrels (with the exception of the basic Gutedel, which is fermented in stainless steel tanks) and stored on the lees. The influence of lees aging and micro-oxidation in the wooden barrels gives the wines a pronounced structure and unique character. We generally refrain from using fining agents—our wines are vegan.
Through our production methods, we create unique wines that were unfortunately “misunderstood” during the quality wine assessment. Since the 2006 vintage, we have chosen to forgo the quality wine examination to preserve the authenticity of our wines.
Since then, we have labeled our wines as Baden country wines!
“Country wine reflects its honesty—the customer evaluates it, not a commission.”
