Demeter wine is pure enjoyment without regret, as the wines are produced in harmony with nature.
Demeter vineyards are living ecosystems. Bird nests, lizards, and butterflies—rather than the monoculture typical of conventional vineyards—you'll find a wide variety of plants, animals, and insects in Demeter vineyards. This diversity also provides a balanced and stable environment for the grapevines.
Demeter vintners work according to the highest ecological standards, in harmony with nature. They naturally refrain from using chemical-synthetic pesticides. But they go even further: Demeter vintners give back more to their vineyards through gentle cultivation than they take away by growing and harvesting the grapes.
The soil, the terroir, is the "treasure chest" of every Demeter wine. For this reason, the vintners treat it with particular care. They ensure that the humus layer continues to grow, making their vineyard resilient to both dry periods and heavy rainfall. Diverse microorganisms also settle in the soil, which are essential for the future aroma of the wine.
Demeter vintners work according to the highest ecological standards and are well-acquainted with the microclimate of their vineyards. The main work takes place there: Through preventive plant protection measures, biodynamic preparations, and a lot of manual labor, Demeter vintners harvest grapes of the highest quality. In the wine cellar, however, minimalism is key. A good wine is created in the vineyard. Thus, Demeter vintners do not produce wine; they accompany it with minimal interventions. This allows the spectrum of aromas from the location and vintage to unfold optimally, and the wine can develop its authentic character.
