Lichti & Astroh

Lichti & Astroh are Freya Lichti and Alex Strohschneider.

Lichti & Astroh is our joint wine project, which began in the fall of 2018, at Freya's family winery in Laumersheim in the Palatinate region.

After a sufficiently long aging time on the lees, our first four wines were available for sale in December 2020: Laudanum 2018 and three white wines from 2019. In November 2021, we founded a wine trading company (lichti & astroh) to market our first wines.

In February 2022, we decided to establish our own winery in Herxheim am Berg, the lichti & astroh GbR. Among other things, we were able to lease old, non-reallotted plots on a massive limestone rock in Leistadt (Bad Dürkheim). We also manage additional vineyards in Laumersheim.

Currently, our total vineyard area is about 10 hectares, spread across well-known sites such as Leistadter Kirchenstück, Kalkofen, Herzfeld, and Herrenmorgen, as well as Großkarlbacher Burgweg, Laumersheimer Steinbuckel, and Kirschgarten.

In the summer of 2022, we became members of Ecovin (the German Federal Association of Organic Winegrowers) and are delighted with our membership, the first contacts, and future events.

We are very excited about our first vintage from our own vineyards in Leistadt and Laumersheim. The wines are still fermenting and bubbling, more or less noisily, in our vaulted cellar in Herxheim...

In June 2023, we bottled the first 2022 wines: rosé and dry riesling from our base line. The 2022 single vineyard wines will follow.
