In the mid-1980s, I took over my father's winery in the eighth generation. I wanted my wines to hark back to the golden age of Riesling from the Moselle with wines that were extremely typical of the vineyard and could be aged.

Every single one of our wines, whether white or red, dry, off-dry or fruit-sweet, quality or Prädikat, reflects the potential of its location and vintage.

As individual, authentic and expressive as possible.

This requires strict selection, precise manual labour and the careful assessment of each individual grape. It is therefore no wonder that the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand by experienced teams in several passes and then selected again in the cellar. Always under the watchful eye of Markus Molitor.

This is because only the careful separation of all ripening stages and the subsequent selection of individual berries can produce the highest qualities - such as the unique series of Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese wines, which spans four decades.

Good things take time.

This is especially true for wines that need a certain amount of time, regardless of the vintage. Only then do they reveal their unmistakable balance, extract density and structure.
