At Burg Schaubeck, we benefit from over 700 years of experience in winemaking. This long tradition (first documented in 1297) forms the foundation of our work. Yet, we continue to evolve and have often been pioneers in the field.

Since 1914, the estate has been owned by the Counts of Adelmann. Even then, the vineyards had already been producing wine for nearly 1,000 years.

Above all, our goal is to create high-quality, distinctive wines without imitating foreign styles or other regions. For a long time, we have prioritized elegance and complexity over brute strength or "loudness." When things get loud, the subtle tones are lost. Enjoyment is key.

While open to improvement, we consider wine first and foremost a cultural asset—not an industrial product.

However, just because something has always been done a certain way doesn’t mean it’s inherently right.

Sustaining a system requires identifying weaknesses and improving upon them.

Stagnation is regression, and every operation must sometimes let go of familiar processes and techniques to embrace innovation. This is the only way to ensure long-term success.
