VDP Weingut Hey

The history of the winery is quickly told: With the purchase of the manor and a plot of land in the historic single vineyard Naumburger Steinmeister, Sigrun and Reinhard Hey laid the foundation for the current winery in 2001.

The decades-old vines were cleared of blackberry bushes, dry stone walls were restored, and the steep terraced vineyard was made cultivable again.

To come as close as possible to our ideal—whether it is the light and delicate estate wine or the densely woven and complex single-vineyard wines—our work in recent years has been primarily shaped by the courage to experiment and the search for new paths.

Our goal is to make the uniqueness of the vineyards, with their shell limestone and red sandstone soils, tasteable year after year.
