VDP Weingut Beurer
In 1997, we started as an independent winery in Kernen-Stetten. Our family has been farming for generations just outside Stuttgart, with my father Siegfried serving as the head of the local cooperative. Our decision to leave the cooperative wasn't an easy one, but we were determined to increase the quality significantly while enjoying our work with wine." — Jochen Beurer.
At the beginning, we cultivated our wine conventionally. In 2003, we made our first attempts with methods based on ecological criteria: foregoing cultured yeast and instead relying on spontaneous fermentation, aiming to achieve a characteristic flavor that reflects the soil and environment through the natural yeast flora of the location. Today, ecology is our top priority. We work according to the guidelines of the Demeter Association.
